Macro-minerals include: sulphur, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, and electrolytes.
Micro-minerals include: cobalt, chromium, iron, zinc, copper, iodine, selenium, fluoride, molybdenum, and manganese. Calcium, phosphorous, copper, selenium and zinc are the essential minerals that cows require in their diet to maintain health. This is because it gives them strong horns, and produce important enzymes. Calcium and phosphorous are the most important minerals that reptiles require to maintain health of their skin and bones and normal bodily functions. They require all trace minerals in their diet to stay healthy. (Mineral Tolerances of animals, 2005). B- complex vitamins are absorbed by the body when mixed with regular amounts of zinc. |
